The spindle of the flat grinding head adopts a spindle bearing structure with one end sliding and one end rolling. There are three kinds of friction states between sliding bearing and spindle: boundary friction, liquid friction and mixed friction.

a.Boundary friction is refers to the two polar molecules of sliding surface is lubricating oil (generally exists in oleic acid, fatty acid and surface active additives) combined with the metal surface directly and form the boundary of the adsorption film separated, or contains the active substances such as sulfur, chlorine and phosphorus chemistry with a metal surface to form separated by inorganic membrane.

b.Liquid friction is when two sliding surfaces are completely separated by a lubricating oil (bearing film).

c.Mixed friction is between these two states. Or boundary friction is more; Or liquid friction more often.

For convenience, boundary friction and mixed friction are hereinafter referred to as non-liquid friction. Sliding bearings in liquid friction is the ideal state. Because the friction resistance is small at this time, its friction coefficient is close to the equivalent friction coefficient of rolling bearing. In addition, the bearing oil film can completely eliminate wear, and has good vibration absorption, buffering and other advantages. However, when the sliding bearing is in the state of boundary friction, if the boundary oil film is destroyed, the direct friction and wear between metals (first of all, abrasive wear) will increase sharply. At the same time, the local temperature produced by the metal friction increases sharply, which leads to the rapid expansion of the metal surface, and in turn, the expansion of the metal surface increases the friction between metals. When the local high temperature generated by friction reaches the melting point of the material, the adhesion phenomenon between the spindle and the bearing will occur, that is, the axle.
