The reason of bearing rust

As we all know, bearings are precision mechanical parts, requiring high precision and high surface finish, and corrosion will make bearings lose their original accuracy and finish, directly affect the performance of bearings, reduce service life, and even scrap.below is the reason of bearing rust :
(1) In high-speed operation, the instantaneous high temperature will make the workpiece surface to molten state, steel surface and oxygen in the air chemical reaction, will form a very thin (20-30nm) iron oxide film.
If the air is not completely removed in the subsequent processing, even if the bearing is coated with anti-rust oil, the internal corrosion will appear on the surface of the bearing after a period of time.
(2) When the bearing is refined or super grinds, it does not reach the specified accuracy and forms pits of a certain depth on the surface. Once the corrosive particles or moisture in the air enter these pits, the corrosion will gradually appear.
(3) After bearing acid printing, if the cleaning is not clean or neutralization is not thorough, it will cause corrosion.
(4) The way of coating anti-rust oil is unreasonable.
(5) The influence of humidity. The critical humidity of steel is about 65%, and the humidity in the production environment is more than 65%, which is easy to make the bearing rust.
(6) When the bearing is cleaned with water, it is not dehydrated or dehydrated and is not clean, which will also cause serious corrosion of the bearing.
(7) When the bearing is assembled and inspected, the operator directly touches the bearing parts by hand, resulting in sweat on the bearing surface, which will cause rust on the outer ring of the bearing.
(8) A large number of moisture and corrosive substances with salt in the air blow to the bearing surface, and the temperature drop of the product caused by ventilation produces “condensation”, which will also cause bearing rust.
(9) The quality of bearing steel does not meet the requirements, such as the high content of non-metallic impurities in steel (the increase of sulfur content in steel reduces the corrosion resistance of the material itself).
