At present, the global robot cost mainly consists of: reducer about 35%, servo machine about 20%, control system about 15%, robot mechanical processing only accounts for about 15%. The world’s high-end robots are dominated by ABB, Fanuc and Kuka, among etc. and 75% of their precision gearboxes are made in Japan.
The precision reducers used in the robot industry can be divided into three types: RV reducers, harmonic reducers and planetary reducers. The three have a market share of approximately 40%, 40% and 20%.
In articulated robots, the RV reducer is generally placed in a heavy load position such as the base, arm, shoulder, etc., and the harmonic reducer is generally placed in the forearm, wrist, or hand.
RV reducer is the abbreviation of Rotary Vector reducer. It is a new hybrid of traditional cycloidal pin gear and planetary gear transmission. The transmission of RV reducer is relatively large.
The harmonic reducer is mainly composed of four basic components: wave generator, flexible gear, flexible bearing and rigid gear.
