The determination of whether a bearing is usable is based on the degree of bearing damage, mechanical properties, importance, operating conditions, and the period until the next overhaul. If there are any of the following defects, the bearing can no longer be used and must be replaced with a new thrust ball bearing. Cracks or chips on any of the inner ring, outer ring, rolling element, or cage.
Abrasion failure is one of the common failure modes of all types of bearings, which can usually be divided into the most common forms of abrasive wear and adhesive wear according to the form of wear.
1.Oil film resistance diagnosis technique
Features: The same judging criteria can be used for different working conditions. Poor diagnosis of surface spalling, indentation, cracking and other abnormalities.
Application range: Applicable to the case where the rotating shaft is exposed.
2. Vibration diagnosis technology
Features: Vibration diagnosis technology is widely used; online monitoring can be realized; diagnosis is fast and the diagnosis theory is mature.
Application scope: Especially suitable for monitoring the failure of bearings in rotating machinery.
3. Iron spectrum diagnosis technology
Features: No need to disassemble the machine; low investment, good effect; can find early fatigue failure of oil-free bearings; can do research on wear mechanism.
Application scope: applicable to the fault diagnosis of bearings lubricated with lubricating oil, more difficult for bearings lubricated with grease.
4. Temperature diagnosis technology
Features: simple diagnosis; better judgment of bearing burn.
Application scope: applicable to simple routine diagnosis of bearings in machines.
5. Optical fiber monitoring and diagnosis technology
Features: fiber optic displacement sensor is highly sensitive; extracts signal directly from the surface of oil-free bearing, which improves the signal-to-noise ratio; can directly reflect the manufacturing quality, surface wear degree, load, lubrication and clearance of the bearing.
Application: Applicable to machines where the sensor can be mounted in the bearing housing.
6. Acoustic emission diagnosis technology
Features: Diagnosis is fast and easy; can be monitored online.
Application range: New technology developed in recent years, less application in bearing condition monitoring.
When picking up the oil-free bearing directly by hand, wash away the sweat on your hands fully and apply high quality mineral oil before operation, especially pay attention to rust prevention in rainy season and summer. Under certain special operating conditions, bearings can obtain a longer life than traditionally calculated, especially under light loads. These special operating conditions are when the rolling surfaces (tracks and rolling elements) are effectively separated by a lubricant film and the possible surface damage caused by contaminants is limited. In fact, under ideal conditions, the so-called permanent bearing life is possible
No strong stamping, no direct hammering of the bearing, no pressure transmission through the rolling element is allowed.
