The difference between rolling bearing and sliding bearing
Author: hongyuanTime:
The difference between rolling bearings and sliding bearings first appears in the structure, the rolling bearing is supported by the rotation of the rolling body to rotate the shaft, and the contact part is a point, the more the rolling body, the more the contact point;Plain bearings rely on a smooth surface to support the rotating shaft, so the contact part is a surface.Secondly, the movement mode is different, the rolling bearing movement mode is rolling; The movement mode of sliding bearings is sliding, so the friction situation is completely different.
Sliding bearing
Bearings that work under sliding friction. The sliding bearing works smoothly, reliably and noiseless. Under the condition of liquid lubrication, the sliding surface is separated from the lubricating oil without direct contact, which can also greatly reduce the friction loss and surface wear. The oil film also has a certain vibration absorption ability. But the starting friction resistance is larger. The part of the shaft supported by the bearing is called the journal, and the parts matching the journal are called the bearing bush.
In order to improve the friction properties of the surface of the bearing bush, the friction reducing material layer cast on its inner surface is called the bearing lining. The materials of bearing bush and bearing lining are collectively referred to as sliding bearing materials.Common sliding bearing materials are bearing alloy (also called Babbitt alloy or white alloy), wear-resistant cast iron, copper and aluminum based alloy, powder metallurgy materials, plastics, rubber, hardwood and carbon-graphite, polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), modified polyformaldehyde (POM), and so on.Plain bearings are generally used in low speed and heavy load conditions, or it is difficult to maintain and lubricate the running parts.
Rolling bearing
The centripetal bearing in the rolling bearing (mainly bearing radial force) usually consists of the inner ring, the outer ring, the rolling body and the rolling body cage. The inner ring is tightly sheathed on the journal and rotates with the shaft, and the outer ring is installed in the bearing seat hole. The outer circumference of the inner ring and the inner circumference of the outer ring are provided with a raceway. When the inner and outer rings rotate relative to each other, the rolling bodies, that is, the inner and outer rings, roll on the raceway, and they are separated by cages to avoid friction with each other.Thrust bearing is divided into two parts: tight ring and looper. The tight ring is tight with the shaft sleeve, and the live ring is supported on the bearing seat. The ring and the rolling body are usually made of rolling bearing steel with high strength and good wear resistance. After quenching, the surface hardness should reach HRC60 ~ 65.The cage is mostly made of pressed mild steel, and can also be made of bakelite or plastic with copper alloy
