The causes and solutions of bearing locking

01 Improper Assembly
1) The bearing outer ring and the bearing seat hole or the bearing inner ring are improperly matched with the shaft during assembly.
In the assembly process, sometimes there is no grinding of the inner hole and measurement of its size, replacement of new bearings for assembly, test found that the temperature rise is too high. When the detection amount is removed, it is found that the bearing seat hole has been deformed, so that the outer ring of the bearing is squeezed, resulting in the radial clearance of the bearing becoming smaller, the rolling body rotating uneven, and the wear is aggravated. The gap between the bearing inner ring and the shaft is too large, the bearing inner ring rotates with the rolling body and the shaft, and friction makes the bearing heat and vibration.
2) Improper control of bearing heating temperature during assembly.
When the temperature of the commissioning bearing heater is too high during the heating operation, it will cause tempering and reduce the hardness and accuracy, so that the bearing temperature rises, leading to aggravated wear and damage of the bearing.
3) Improper adjustment of bearing clearance during assembly.
In practical work, many installations are sometimes debugged only by hand feel, and the clearance is too large or too small to meet production needs. If the axial clearance is too small, it is easy to cause bearing heating, accelerate pitting, and even make the rolling body stuck or glued to damage; If the axial clearance is too large, the impact force of the moving pair increases and the stiffness decreases, it will lead to abnormal sound during operation, and even cause serious vibration or damage to the cage.
02 Oil seal problem
Oil seal is used to seal the rotating shaft of mechanical equipment oil sealing element, and the cavity is basically static, so the oil seal is also called rotary shaft lip sealing ring. For the oil seal with a pair of lips, the pair of lips play a dust-proof role, prevent the invasion of impurities, to extend the life of the oil seal, but the pair of lips are often poor lubrication, friction is larger, resulting in dry friction and damage to the oil seal, so the installation of the double lip oil seal must be filled with grease between the lips.
03 Clearance problem
In the assembly process, if the size of the spacer is not carefully checked and the assembly test run is carried out, the temperature will rise rapidly after a certain time. The size of the outer ring of the bearing is determined by the end cover and the stop of the bearing seat. The size of the sleeve is reduced. The size of the inner ring will be adjusted by the round nut.
04 Lubrication problem
The grease in the bearing should not be too much. If the amount of grease is too large, the friction torque will increase and the bearing temperature will rise. However, if the amount of fat added is too little, reliable lubrication cannot be obtained and dry friction occurs. Generally speaking, the appropriate amount of grease is 1/3 ~ 1/2 of the total void volume in the bearing. Therefore, an appropriate amount of grease should be regularly injected according to the use requirements.
