Problems needing attention in daily maintenance of bearings
1. Are there requirements for the installation surface and installation site?
Yes.If the bearing contains iron filings, burrs, dust and other foreign bodies into the bearing, it will cause noise and vibration when the bearing is in operation, and even damage the raceway and rolling body.Therefore, before installing bearings, you must ensure that the installation surface and the installation environment are clean.
2.Are bearings necessary to be cleaned before installation?
Bearing surface is coated with anti-rust oil, you must use clean gasoline or kerosene carefully clean, and then coated with clean quality or high speed and high temperature lubricating oil before installation and use.The influence of cleanliness on bearing life and vibration noise is very large.But we would like to remind you in particular that fully enclosed bearings do not need cleaning and refueling.
3. How to choose grease?
Lubrication has a very important impact on the operation and life of bearings. Here we briefly introduce the general principles of choosing grease.Grease is made of base oil, thickener and additives. The performance of different kinds and different brands of the same kind of grease varies greatly, and the allowable rotation limit is different. Be sure to pay attention to it when choosing.The performance of grease is mainly determined by the base oil. Generally, the base oil with low viscosity is suitable for low temperature and high speed, while the base oil with high viscosity is suitable for high temperature and high load.Thickener is also related to the lubrication performance, the water resistance of the thickener determines the water resistance of the grease.In principle, greases of different brands cannot be mixed, and even greases of the same thickening agent will have bad effects on each other due to different additives.
4.In the lubrication of bearings, the more grease coated, the better?
When lubricating bearings, it is a common misconception that the more grease the better.Excessive grease in the bearing and bearing chamber will cause excessive mixing of grease, resulting in extremely high temperature.The quantity of bearing filling lubricant is appropriate to fill 1/2 ~ 1/3 of the inner space of the bearing, and it should be reduced to 1/3 at high speed.
5.How to install and disassemble?
When installing, do not directly hammer the bearing end face and non-stressed surface. Use pressing block, sleeve or other installation tools (tooling) to make the bearing uniformly stressed. Do not install by power transmission of rolling body.If the mounting surface is coated with lubricating oil, the installation will be smoother.If the interference is large, the bearing should be placed in mineral oil and heated to 80~90℃ before installation as soon as possible, and the oil temperature should be strictly controlled not to exceed 100℃, so as to prevent the hardness reduction of tempering effect and affect the size recovery.In the disassembly of difficulties, it is recommended that you use the disassembly tool to pull outward and carefully pour hot oil on the inner ring, the heat will make the inner ring of the bearing expand, so that it is easier to fall off.
6.The smaller the radial clearance of the bearing, the better?
Not all bearings require a minimum working clearance, and you must select the appropriate clearance according to the conditions.In the national standard 4604-93, the radial clearance of rolling bearings can be divided into five groups: group 2, group 0, group 3, group 4 and group 5, and the clearance value increases from small to large, among which group 0 is the standard clearance.The basic radial clearance group is suitable for general operating conditions, conventional temperatures and commonly used interference fit.Large radial clearance should be selected for bearings working under special conditions such as high temperature, high speed, low noise and low friction.Small radial clearance should be selected for bearings of precision spindle and machine tool spindle.A small amount of working clearance can be maintained for roller bearings.In addition, there is no clearance for separate type bearings;Finally, the working clearance of the bearing after installation should be smaller than the original clearance before installation, because the bearing has to bear a certain load rotation, and the elastic deformation caused by the bearing matching and load.
