Bearing clearance measurement methods mainly include special instrument measurement method, simple measurement method and feeler gauge measurement method.
The feeler gauge measurement method is the most widely used in the field. It is suitable for measuring the radial clearance of large and extra-large cylindrical roller bearings. The bearing is measured vertically or horizontally, and the measured value when the bearing is horizontally in case of dispute shall prevail.
Determination method of maximum radial clearance and minimum radial clearance of bearings:
When measuring with a feeler gauge along the circumference of the roller and raceway, turn the ring and the roller cage assembly once, and the maximum thickness of the feeler gauge gauge that can pass through three consecutive rollers is the maximum radial clearance measurement.
The minimum thickness of the feeler gauge that cannot pass on three consecutive rollers is the minimum radial clearance measurement. The arithmetic mean values of the maximum and minimum radial clearance measurements are taken as the radial clearance value of the bearing. The clearance measured using the feeler gauge method allows an error including the feeler gauge tolerance.
When radial clearance of self-alting roller bearing is measured by the feeler gauge method, after the radial clearance value of each row is qualified, the arithmetic average value of the radial clearance value of the two rows is taken as the radial clearance value of the bearing.
