Generally, the main bearing failure mainly has the following situations:
(1) The temperature of the lubricating oil increases gradually, and streaks sticking to the babbitt alloy are formed on the outer surface of the journal of the hollow shaft. The deep streaks can reach about 2 mm, and the density is uneven. The main reason is that the smoothness of the journal of the hollow shaft is not enough, so that the contact point of the tile surface is subjected to shear stress and causes a large area of strain (shear failure). Babbitt alloy particles are pasted on the surface of the journal of the hollow shaft, and when the hollow shaft turns to the upper part, it meets the cold lubricating oil and is cold-treated, thereby increasing the hardness. Strip traces with unequal spacing. At the same time, the lubricating oil temperature of the main bearing gradually rises to generate a high temperature after the hollow shaft with Babbitt alloy particles is rubbed in circular operation. At this time, the bearing bush should be pulled out, and the tile surface should be scraped and ground again. If the streaks are too deep, the homogeneous Babbitt alloy should be repaired.
(2) High temperature appears on one side of the bearing bush. This is due to the failure of the adjustment of the tile seat, which makes the tile surface contact with the journal of the hollow shaft in a small area, and the static load becomes larger. At this time, the cylinder of the mill should be lifted up to check the contact between the spherical tile back and the tile seat. If necessary, the tile seat and tile back should be ground again to make it self-aligning. At the same time, it is necessary to scrape and grind the tile surface again, scrape off the oxide layer completely, and polish the journal of the hollow shaft with oilstone.
(3) When the temperature rises, the gloss of the main shaft is gray and there is adhesion phenomenon at times. This is caused by the local high temperature of the tile surface and the gluing occurs. Poor quality, caused by many impurities in the oil, the oil should be changed.
(4) The oil temperature is high, but there is no Babbitt metal adhesion phenomenon. The reasons may have the following aspects: first, the supply of lubricating oil is small and the viscosity is low, and the oil film cannot be formed; second, the oil quality is poor; The cooling water is not flowing smoothly. Measures such as changing the oil, re-scraping the tiles, and unblocking the cooling water can be taken respectively.
