When the equipment is regularly inspected, operation checked, and peripheral parts replaced, determine if the disassembled bearing can be used again. Be sure to carefully investigate and record the appearance of the bearing. In order to clarify and investigate the remaining amount of lubricant, the bearing should be cleaned well after sampling.
Check the condition of the raceway surface, rolling surface, and mating surface, as well as the state of wear of the cage for damage and abnormality.
In addition, after considering the degree of bearing damage, machine performance, importance, operating conditions, inspection cycle, etc., it is determined whether the bearing can be used again or replaced. If you find that the bearing is damaged or abnormal, identify the cause and formulate a countermeasure. If there are the following defects, the bearings cannot be used anymore and new bearings need to be replaced.
1) Any one of the inner and outer rings, rolling elements, and cages are cracked and chipped.
2) Any one of the inner and outer rings and rolling elements is peeled off.
3) The raceway surface, ribs, and rolling elements are significantly damaged.
4) The cage is heavily worn or the rivets are loose.
5) Raceway surface, rolling elements rusty and bruised.
6) There are significant indentations and scars on the rolling surfaces and rolling elements.
7) There is creep on the inner diameter of the inner ring or the outer diameter of the outer ring.
8) Super hot discoloration.
9) The seals and dust caps of grease sealed bearings are severely damaged.
The inspection items in operation include the rolling noise, vibration, temperature, and lubrication status of the bearing. The details are as follows:
1, bearing rolling sound
A sound tester is used to check the size and sound quality of the rolling noise of the running bearing. Even if the bearing is slightly peeled or damaged, abnormal sound and irregular sound are emitted, and the sound detector can distinguish between them.
2, the vibration of the bearing
Bearing vibration is very sensitive to bearing damage. For example, peeling, indentation, rust, crack, and wear are all reflected in the measurement of bearing vibration. Therefore, the vibration can be measured by using a special bearing vibration measurer (frequency analyzer, etc.). The size infers the abnormal condition by frequency. The measured value differs depending on the conditions of use of the bearing or the mounting position of the sensor. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze and compare the measured values of each machine beforehand to determine the judgment criteria.
3, the temperature of the bearing
Normally, the temperature of the bearing gradually rises with the start of operation and reaches a stable state after 1-2 hours. The normal temperature of the bearing varies depending on the heat capacity, heat dissipation, speed, and load of the machine. If the lubrication and mounting parts are appropriate, the temperature of the bearing will suddenly rise and abnormal high temperatures will occur. At this time, the operation must be stopped and necessary precautions must be taken. The use of thermal sensors can monitor the working temperature of the bearing at any time, and achieve automatic alarm or stop when the temperature exceeds the specified value, to prevent the accident of the burning shaft.
