Clutch Release Bearings.
The clutch release bearing is generally composed of an angular contact ball bearing, a bearing housing (or slip seat) and its coupling. If the clutch release lever, lever shock absorber and conduit are included, it constitutes a clutch release system. The main function of the clutch release bearing is to disengage the clutch through its axial movement, so as to cut off the power connection between the car engine and transmission and/or power input shaft, and assist in completing the operation of starting, stopping and shifting of the car.
The clutch release bearing is used in modern automobile clutch system: when the clutch is engaged, the power output from the engine crankshaft is transmitted to the transmission input shaft through the flywheel, pressure plate and driven disk; when the clutch release bearing moves left along the conduit under the action of lever, the flywheel and pressure plate can be separated from the driven disk by compressing the diaphragm spring, thus cutting off the power transmitted from the engine to the transmission.
Reducing vibration, noise, and friction and wear on the moving surfaces are the main issues facing clutch release bearing systems, and the resulting research has led to a number of significant improvements related to clutch release bearings. Other improvements in clutch release bearings relate to the materials, construction, sealing and lubrication of angular contact ball bearings.
Clutch release bearings can be divided into normal clutch release bearings and self-aligning clutch release bearings according to whether their angular contact can move radially with respect to the housing, i.e. whether they have an alignment function.
The angular contact ball bearing in the general clutch release bearing is rigidly connected to its housing. According to the inner ring or outer ring of angular contact ball bearing and bearing seat rigid connection, the clutch release bearing has the outer ring rotation and inner ring rotation.
The angular contact ball bearing in the self-aligning clutch release bearing is flexibly connected to its housing, and the angular contact ball bearing can move radially with respect to the housing, thus realizing concentric rotation with the clutch.
