In order to maintain the original performance of the crossed roller bearing in a good state for as long as possible, maintenance and inspection are required to prevent accidents before they occur, ensure the reliability of operation, and improve productivity and economy. Maintenance should preferably be carried out on a regular basis according to the operating standards corresponding to the operating conditions of the machine. The contents include monitoring the operating status, replenishing or replacing lubricants, and regular disassembly inspections. As maintenance items during operation, there are rotation noise, vibration, temperature, and the state of lubricants of angular contact ball bearings.
Bearing cleaning: When disassembling the bearing for maintenance, first record the appearance of the bearing, confirm the residual amount of lubricant, and wash the bearing after sampling the lubricant for inspection. As the cleaning agent, gasoline and kerosene are generally used.
The cleaning of the removed bearing is divided into coarse cleaning and fine cleaning, which are placed in the container respectively, and the bottom of the metal mesh is placed first, so that the bearing does not directly contact the dirt of the container. During rough cleaning, if the bearing is rotated with dirt, it will damage the rolling surface of the bearing, so be careful. In the rough cleaning oil, use a brush to remove grease and adhesions. After it is roughly clean, transfer to the fine cleaning.
Fine cleaning: It is to carefully clean the crossed roller bearing while rotating in the cleaning oil. In addition, the cleaning oil should always be kept clean.
Bearing maintenance and judgment: In order to judge whether the disassembled bearing can be used, it should be checked after the angular contact ball bearing is cleaned. Check the condition of raceway surface, rolling surface, mating surface, wear of cage, increase in bearing clearance, and damage and abnormality irrelevant to the decrease of dimensional accuracy. For non-separable small ball bearings, hold the inner ring horizontally with one hand, and rotate the outer ring to check for smoothness.
For separable bearings such as angular contact ball bearings, the rolling elements and the raceway surface of the outer ring can be inspected separately.
Because large bearings cannot be rotated by hand, pay attention to checking the appearance of rolling elements, raceway surfaces, cages, rib surfaces, etc. The higher the importance of the bearing, the more careful inspection is required.
The reason for the overheating of crossed roller bearings may be incorrect installation. Skewed installation will cause the balls to not roll in the correct position of the bearing raceway, and even cause the larger ball end face and the axial direction of the inner race and outer race stop of the bearing housing. force, causing the bearing to overheat.
Another possibility is that the measurement of the shaft diameter and the bearing seat hole is not accurate or the roughness of the mating surface does not meet the standard requirements, resulting in an excessive interference fit, which greatly squeezes the bearing seat ring, resulting in crossed rollers. The radial clearance of the bearing itself is reduced, which makes the angular contact ball bearing difficult to rotate, generates heat, aggravates the wear or gets stuck, and in severe cases, it will cause the inner and outer races of the bearing to be installed.
Anti-friction bearings in all bearings basically consist of two hardened steel rings, a number of hardened balls or rollers, and a separator or cage separating the rollers or rollers. These types are further divided into many categories in use. Some types, such as needle cylindrical bearings, may not have an inner ring and the rollers move directly on the hardened shaft.
There are cases in which it is practically necessary to use more than the recommended amount of grease. When the required torque is low, very little grease is required to lubricate the bearings. When the speed is very low and the crossed roller bearing is exposed to dust or moisture, the bearing can almost fill up. Angular contact ball bearings generally require more frequent lubrication than normal at high speeds and high temperatures.
