I. General requirements for cage materials
1) It has low hardness and high wear resistance. Although the hardness of the material is high, the wear resistance of the material is high. However, if the high hardness material is used as the cage, the rolling element will be worn, which will adversely affect the rotation performance and even produce “cohesion phenomenon.”
2) Since the cage is subjected to repeated tensile and compressive stresses, it is required to have high fatigue strength; necessary elasticity and toughness; and resistance to centrifugal force.
3) The cage is light in weight and uses a material with a low density to make the friction loss of the bearing small, which can alleviate the impact of the rolling element into and out of the load zone.
4) Good plastic working and cutting performance; sufficient rigidity and flexibility.
5) The coefficient of friction between the ferrule and the rolling element is small.
6) Chemically stable and not easy to rust.
Second, additional requirements for cage materials
1) The surface is sturdy, that is, it can attach or store lubricant;
2) good thermal conductivity, fast heat dissipation; large heat capacity and heat resistance;
3) It has a certain vibration absorption capacity and is not easy to resonate with other parts.
4) It is not easy to generate noise.
Third, special requirements for cage materials
1) In the case where corrosion resistance is required, since the cage does not require extra high hardness, austenitic stainless steel can be used, and 0Cr18Ni9 steel is used most;
2) Austenitic stainless steel having sufficient high temperature strength is also used in high temperature applications;
3) When it is particularly necessary to increase the strength of the cage, a carbonitrided surface treatment may be performed using a low carbon steel sheet;
4) Under the condition that self-lubrication is required, a cage can be made of a graphite steel cage or a porous material capable of storing oil;
5) When working in a magnetic field, it is sometimes required that the material does not interfere with the external magnetic field and is not affected by the external magnetic field.
The bearing temperature can generally be estimated based on the external temperature of the bearing housing. However, it is more accurate to directly measure the temperature of the outer ring of the bearing by using the oil hole. The bearing temperature gradually rises from the start of the operation, and the temperature is usually stable after 1 to 2 hours. If the bearing is poorly installed, the temperature will rise sharply and an abnormally high temperature will occur. The reasons are such as excessive lubricant, too small bearing clearance, poor installation, excessive friction of the sealing device, and the like. In the case of high-speed rotation, the selection of the bearing structure and the lubrication method is also the cause.
The rotation of the bearing is checked with a stethoscope, etc., and there are strong metal noise, abnormal sounds, irregular sounds, etc. to explain the abnormality. The reasons are poor lubrication, poor accuracy of the shaft or housing, bearing damage, and foreign matter intrusion.
1, tile surface corrosion: spectral analysis found that the concentration of non-ferrous metal elements is abnormal; there are many sub-micron wear particles of non-ferrous metal components in the iron spectrum; lubricating oil moisture exceeds the standard, acid value exceeds the standard.
2, the surface of the journal is strained: there are iron-based cutting abrasive grains or black oxide particles in the iron spectrum, and there is tempering color on the metal surface.
3, the surface corrosion of the journal: Spectral analysis found that the concentration of iron is abnormal, there are many sub-micron particles of iron in the iron spectrum, and the moisture of the lubricating oil exceeds the standard or the acid value exceeds the standard.
4, surface strain: found in the iron spectrum cutting abrasive particles, abrasive particles are non-ferrous metals.
5, fretting wear behind the tile: spectral analysis found that the iron concentration is abnormal, there are many iron components in the iron spectrum sub-micron wear particles, lubricating oil moisture and acid value is abnormal.
Under liquid lubrication conditions, the sliding surface is separated by the lubricating oil without direct contact, and the friction loss and surface wear can be greatly reduced, and the oil film also has a certain vibration absorbing capability.
